Assistant Cashier

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Assistant Cashier to join us in our Finance department based in Burton on a 7 months fixed term contract.


The successful person will support the cashier function by allocating all incoming payments to customer accounts and processing all outgoing online payments to Healthcare at Home suppliers.

What does an Assistant Cashier do at Healthcare at Home?


  • You will be responsible for completing a daily download for all incoming and outgoing payments from relevant bank accounts.
  • Assign all incoming BACS transfers, credit card payments and cheques to customer accounts using Sage, matching with relevant invoices.
  • Process all online outgoing payments to HaH suppliers, ensuring payments are made accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete bank reconciliation ensuring accounts have no discrepancies or errors.
  • Complete any initial investigation of errors and escalate to line manager as required.


What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?


You will have a background in an entry level or administrative Finance role. You will have experience working in an environment requiring a strong level of attention to detail and accuracy.


Highly analytical thinking will allow you to tackle problems and come up with solutions easily. You will have a strong awareness of confidentiality issues surrounding banking and cashier services and have exceptional integrity.


You will be confident working in a fast paced and high volume environment, and strive working both independently and as part of a team. You will be able to prioritize your workload, and have strong organisation skills.


Undertaking or willingness to work towards an Associate of Accounting Technicians qualification would be an advantage.
