Category Manager

We are introducing a new role of category manager into our business; this is a senior role within our procurement team where you will work in partnership with the Procurement Director and wider team. This role will develop and deliver the strategic procurement of goods and service across a range of different categories, managing the delivery of cost and quality ensuring exceptional value for the business.

This role is not about managing the status quo, this is about driving real change within a business that is rapidly evolving as it embarks on a business transformation programme which will revolutionise the clinical home care market.

What does a Category Manager do at Healthcare at Home? 

  • Ensure solutions are commercially viable, meet our operational requirements and support our goal of putting our patients first..
  • Be the expert within the business delivering a first-class service for all internal stakeholders throughout the organisation.
  • Transform the function through good procurement practice including control, innovation and digitisation to ensure patients get what they want when they want it.
  • Provide valuable and efficient category management to Healthcare at Home that delivers year on year cost reduction, value creation and allowing opportunity for growth.

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful? 

We are looking for change agents, people who are driven to achieve results and can take business leaders on this journey, inspiring them and the procurement team. You will be motivated by delivering an exceptional procurement offering to the business. It is important that you have gravitas and create impact in the relationships you create with internal and external stakeholders.

Technically you will be an expert in category strategy, a born negotiator you will have exceptional purchasing skills all of this will be underpinned by a good technical knowledge of a range of procurement categories. Proven experience in delivering change and value creation within a high pressure and high paced environment is critical to your success in this role.
