What does a Dispenser do at Healthcare at Home?

 

  • You will be responsible for accurately labelling and dispensing medication and ancillary item to patients in a timely fashion, processing prescriptions to meet productivity targets
  • You will effectively rotate between fast moving and complex therapy dispensing while maintaining accuracy and highlighting errors, allowing for the correct production of Sales Orders
  • You will record any near misses or dispensing errors, and will work closely with the pharmacist to highlight any warnings from the Patient Medical Record to ensure medication is safe to dispense.

 

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

 

You will ideally have experience in a dispensing or technician role, but don't worry if you haven't, we will support you in getting all the skills you need. To be successful in this role you will be meticulous with a thorough approach to work with an excellent eye for detail. If you already operate in a Pharmacy environment and have the NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Tech' that's great and we can help you if you desire more, to progress towards the Level 3 all fully funded and supported by our L&D team. 

 

As you will be working as part of a team, you will be adaptable and have well-developed communication skills, in order to build important relationships. You will be systematic, have a good eye for detail and accuracy, and will have proven technical experience in a community or hospital pharmacy.
